The Revival That Begins With Prayer

The Revival That Begins With Prayer

"And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD."

KJV+, Gen 4:26

When believers start prioritising prayer or a church that previously neglected it begins to restore it to its proper place, it indicates that revival has begun. Whenever God plans to bring about something new, He first reestablishes the altar of prayer.

Reviving believers' prayer life forms the foundation for developing godly character and leadership strength, allowing God to accomplish His plans and purposes in their lives. Similarly, when a church's prayer life is renewed, it sparks spiritual vitality and creates the environment for genuine growth and expansion.

Prayerlessness cannot carry the weight of divine glory.

When God intends to use a person, He first leads them to understand the necessity of prayer. Because it is through prayer and the knowledge of the Word of God that spiritual strength is built, and this is the channel through which God manifest His glory in a man's life.

When God called Moses, He did not immediately send him to Pharaoh. Instead, He called Moses to come to Him first. In God’s presence, Moses’ faith, confidence, and spiritual strength were developed so that he could stand before Pharaoh without fear and lead God’s people out of Egypt.

This is the pattern God follows with everyone He calls.

If God is calling you into ministry, your first assignment is not public ministry but prayer. Prayer is the first work that must precede all planning and preparation. In the place of prayer, the details of God’s calling become clearer, and the strategies needed to accomplish His will are revealed.

Prayer gives direction to planning and preparation.

Prayer is the beginning of every work. Without prayer, even the best plans and efforts often become fruitless. Many activities fail because prayer was not made the principal foundation.

Prayer opens doors to knowledge, understanding, wisdom, direction, and the help of God. It is the key that opens many other doors that we need. If you give yourself to prayer, you will never lack divine direction and nothing shall be impossiblefor you.

However, despite this truth, prayer is frequently treated casually in today’s church, with many prayer requests focused on oneself rather than on the realisation of God's kingdom. The strategy passed down to us through Scripture and the early church fathers was prayer itself, not just human techniques for church growth.

The power of God cannot be contained or released by human strategies—only by a life of prayer.
