Power of Persistence 

And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them. Judges 8:4

Persistence is essential for pursuing a significant purpose and achieving a vision that seems beyond our strength. Despite their exhaustion, Gideon and his soldiers continued their pursuit of their enemies, demonstrating the power of a clear and compelling goal to inspire perseverance in fulfilling a dream. Persistence allows us to remain consistent and steadfast in our pursuits. Without a great vision, we may struggle to rise from complacency and actively seek God with the dedication needed for constant prayer, which builds a strong spirit, deepens our faith, enhances our understanding of the Word of God, and helps us grow in alignment with our vision. 

God does not use casual seekers for the advancement of His kingdom; He relies on those who are consistent and committed. Persistence in prayer and faith is key to receiving answers to our prayers and realising our visions. There is no problem or challenge that God cannot resolve if we are persistent in our prayers. Furthermore, persistence in our personal development and education reveals our hidden potential, leading others to recognise and support us. Those who are unwavering in their callings and vocations become dependable allies. God entrusts them with guiding nations and organisations toward the destinies He has planned for them.

You may possess gifts or talents, but without persistence in your education and development, few will notice or be drawn to you. A strong work ethic can help you break barriers, overcome obstacles, and achieve honours beyond your qualifications. Even if you lack natural talent or were not born into greatness, persistence in your efforts will lead to success through diligence. 

Persistence is the foundation of consistency and dedication—whether in work, prayer, or pursuing one’s goals. It fosters mastery and speed in your calling, positioning you as a leader in that field. However, vision is the driving force behind persistence. A clear and noble vision motivates consistent efforts toward its fulfilment. A person with vision recognises the obstacles in the way of that vision, yet remains steadfast in prayer, preparation, and work.

Persisting in your area of expertise not only helps you gain strength and experience but also empowers you to uplift others in that domain. Moreover, persistence in prayer and faith is crucial for receiving divine help. It motivates God to elevate individuals into greater dimensions of grace and achievement. While persistence recognises barriers to a vision's fulfilment, it remains undeterred by them.

The Word became Answer RSV, John 1:14: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father." The Word, or Logos, became human as God's response to our need for salvation, addressing all our spiritual needs and the limitations we face as humans. The written word, the scriptures, is also provided by God to meet our needs. However, many struggle to find answers to their challenges in the scriptures due to their lack of understanding of them.
