You are worthy O Lord..

You are worthy O Lord..

The twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, honour, and power; for You have created all things, and for Your pleasure, they are and were created." — Revelation 4:10-11

Even with the privilege of sitting around God's throne, these elders demonstrate a deep sense of humility before Him. When the living creatures give glory, honour, and thanks to God, the elders do not remain seated, proud of their crowns. Instead, they rise from their seats and fall down before God. In worship, they lay their crowns at His feet, proclaiming that He alone is worthy of glory, honour, and power. The crowned elders understand that there is only one King, and that King is God, deserving of all glory despite the honour they have been given.

Like these elders, we must not allow the privileges, gifts, blessings, anointings, and grace we receive from God to lead us to pride, as if they were earned through our own efforts. The grace that allows us to be close to God and walk intimately with Him through Christ should not lead us to contempt against Him. God has blessed us to glorify His name and to draw nations to worship Him, not to become disobedient or undermine His authority and the mission He sent us. Unfortunately, some people grow proud when God elevates or blesses them, stopping their submission to Him and becoming unavailable for His use.

We must guard against being so consumed with our callings or assignments that we neglect our time with God, failing to seek Him and worship Him privately as before He called and empowered us to serve. It is essential to remember that private worship and seeking God are crucial before we can effectively engage in congregational worship and service. Being anointed by God and doing mighty works through His grace does not make us equal to Him in authority, nor will He allow us to take His place in the lives of His people. We are not demigods; we are sent to make Christ known so that people will come to Him and be established in faith. No servant of God should become independent of Him because of grace or anointing. We must never think we can stand without God upholding us.

Regardless of God's miracles and great works through us, we are not the Messiah but witnesses of Him. Therefore, we must cast down our crowns and glory before God, returning all praise to Him for the work He has assigned us. We should not let our anointing or gifts lead us to pride or cause us to disregard God's instructions or the wise counsel of our spiritual leaders. The gifts, honour, and grace bestowed upon us are meant to glorify God, not ourselves. If we become arrogant and no longer submit to God's authority, using our gifts for self-serving ambitions, He will remove His presence from those gifts, causing His glory to cease shining through us.
