The Word became Answer
The Word became Answer
RSV, John 1:14: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father."
But those who genuinely seek truth from the scriptures and are willing to obey God's guidance will find that the scriptures are revealed to them, providing a word from God. Casual reading of the scriptures will not yield meaningful benefits. Our comprehension of the scriptures plays a significant role in how we apply them and the guidance we receive. Therefore, we must not only read the scriptures but also study them carefully to uncover the divine benefits hidden within for our well-being.
Whatever God intends to do for us or through us is always accompanied by the scriptures, which communicate His message. Consequently, we need to understand the word of God to gain direction for our lives and to navigate the troubles or challenges we may face. The Word of God is the tool through which God accomplishes His works and fulfils His purpose in the world. If we cannot sit down with the scriptures and receive a clear word from God for our mission, direction, and pursuits, we are not yet fully prepared for God's involvement to lead and empower us in whatever He may be leading us to do.
Growth in faith, in the knowledge of God and in spiritual capacity is impossible without regularly hearing from God through the scriptures. No matter how much comfort we may receive from others during trials or challenges, true comfort and encouragement come only when we find words from God in the scriptures. Our understanding of the scriptures and the ability to receive God's daily word are serious responsibilities that we must not take lightly.
