Go forward

And the LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry out to me? Speak to the children of Israel that they go forward” (Exodus 14:15).

Despite the fierce pursuit of Pharaoh and the Egyptian armies against the children of Israel, the Lord instructed Moses to tell them to move forward. God’s plan for us is to pursue our God-given goals and dreams rather than back down or lose heart in the face of challenges. He encourages us to keep moving forward, knowing that He has equipped us for success. He did not save us for a life free of challenges. But He is shaping us into strong individuals who are steadfast in faith and resilient against any opposition.

God understands the nature of the tasks He has assigned to the church in the world and the enemies that may attempt to impede our progress. That is why He has given us the Holy Spirit to accompany us on our journey. We are not alone in our quest for spiritual growth and in advancing the kingdom of God; the Holy Spirit is there to help us achieve success. He will assist us in overcoming any barriers that obstruct our progress and encourage us to move forward.

To strengthen our relationship with the Holy Spirit, we should engage in prayer, study the Word of God, trust His guidance, and obey Him consistently. We are expected to draw strength, power, wisdom, knowledge, and encouragement from Him continuously so that we do not lose faith or direction in life. The Holy Spirit will always help us in our pursuit of an effective relationship with God and a productive life, as long as we remain close to Him. We have no reason to give up on the good works God is doing in us and through us, even in the face of opposition from the enemy. With the Holy Spirit by our side, there are no barriers to our growth that we cannot overcome, and no heights that God has destined for us that we cannot achieve.

Moving forward in life and achieving growth can be challenging, especially with opposition always present. However, we must not retreat from developing our faith and advancing in life, for success belongs to the courageous. Only those who persist and consistently pursue their dreams will be rewarded by God. We must engage in good works consistently and not give up on them if we expect God to reward our efforts. Those who remain faithful until the end will be rewarded, not those who stop halfway.

The enemy's opposition to our spiritual growth, the works of God we are involved in, our businesses, or our secular endeavours often indicates that what we are doing threatens them. They fight to weaken and discourage our faith from moving forward. However, we should not abandon the challenging paths that lead to significant accomplishments in favour of easier paths devoid of opposition. Pursuing challenging tasks will help us develop the spiritual stamina, skills, and experiences necessary for leadership and inspiring others to achieve great works.
