ɢᴏᴅ ᴅᴇᴍᴀɴᴅs ᴄᴏᴍᴘʟᴇᴛᴇ ᴏʙᴇᴅɪᴇɴᴄᴇ ᴛᴏ ʜɪs ᴡᴏʀᴅ

‭‭1 Samuel 15:11 KJV‬‬. It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel, and he cried unto the LORD all night. 

The verse above shows God expressing his disappointment toward Saul's betrayal. Saul was chosen by God to lead his people, but instead, he chose to ignore God's instructions. God had commanded him to annihilate the entire Amalekite population, but Saul and his troops spared Agag's life and only disposed of the livestock they considered worthless. God deemed Saul's incomplete obedience inadmissible.

Leaders who are not loyal to God and disobey His commands can bring harm to the church. Therefore, God desires wholehearted commitment and loyalty from His leaders. Half-hearted obedience is not acceptable.

Loyalty is an essential virtue that leaders must possess, and they must instil it in their children as well. Disregarding God's instructions is a serious matter for leaders who are expected to obey Him. As seen with Saul, God will not hesitate to replace such leaders because He cannot compromise on His standard of loyalty. Saul's disobedience was unacceptable because God values complete obedience to Him. As leaders, we must stand firm in following God's instructions, even in the smallest matters. This is what true leadership entails.

As leaders, we must set the standard and follow God's commandments without fluttering. We should inspire and guide our followers to walk in obedience to God. We cannot expect our followers to obey God if we are not following Him. Our allegiance to God should be our top priority, and we should take pleasure in pleasing Him in all that we do.

It is important to recognize that God's commandments are not optional but mandatory for all. God will not tolerate rebellion and disloyalty from His leaders because it will ultimately cause damage to the lives of the people we are leading. Just as God replaced David with a leader after His own heart, He will also select leaders who fear and obey Him and bless them accordingly.

Our ultimate goal should be to fully surrender and obey God's instructions. We should strive to make God proud of us and avoid giving Him any reason to regret entrusting us with a ministry. We must be assertive in our leadership, setting an example for others to follow in our unabridged obedience to God's instructions.

The Word became Answer RSV, John 1:14: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father." The Word, or Logos, became human as God's response to our need for salvation, addressing all our spiritual needs and the limitations we face as humans.
