Jer 15:16: "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts."
God's words are available to everyone to read, obey, and be helped by. However, many people do not see them as God's wisdom and provision to deliver them from their struggles. Just as we place value on earthly treasures, we must also value the words that God has written or spoken and trust in them. Even though God's words may seem weak to a natural person, they are winning and success strategies for those who obey them. Unless we see the words of God as gifts from God for our salvation and help, they will not benefit us or add worth to our lives. Similar to how our physical bodies hunger for food, our spirits must hunger for the words of God.
Feeding our spirits with the words of God strengthens and energizes us spiritually. Living without consuming the words of God will make us spiritually weak and unable to overcome temptations. We will be ill-prepared to engage in spiritual warfare and to be used by God.
Reading and understanding the word of God strengthens our prayer life, our relationship with God, and our work for Him, so we must prioritize consuming it.
The words of God are the instruments that God will use to build our faith in Him, allocate to us our inheritance in Christ, and build our capacity to fulfil the ministry given to us. We must "eat" the word of God as our daily spiritual meal, and over time, we will see it as God's answer to our needs. When we start "eating" the words of God, we will find that they bring joy and rejoicing to our hearts. Our hearts will find joy and rejoice in understanding them, and we will desire to read more and more without tiring. The more we understand God through His words, the more our hearts will hunger for His presence, power, and manifestation of His glory in our lives.
