Jesus is the standard

Exo 25:40: "And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was showed thee in the mount."

As believers, we should strive to live our lives by the righteousness of God which has been revealed to us through Jesus Christ and is available to us through the scriptures. Jesus Christ sets the standard for God's righteousness and holiness, which we are called to emulate. Our goal should be to become more like Jesus Christ in everything we do. Anyone whose life does not reflect the character of Christ should not be worthy of modelling oneself on or following.

We should seek to see Christ's character reflected in the lives of those who profess Him before we approve of their works. Our character reveals who we are, and our actions speak loudly of our true selves. Ministry or service to God is not just a professional duty, but a way of life aimed at blessing others. If our lives are not aligned with God, our service to Him will not be acceptable to Him and not impactful to others.

It's important not to prioritize service over godly character. If our character communicates Christ, our service to God will also reflect Christ. If we are mindful of allowing Christ to be seen in our lives, we will also be mindful of His glory to be seen in our work. That's why we need to constantly seek fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ to receive the grace and power to live for Him and serve Him acceptably.

Those who desire to live for Christ and serve Him well will put their hearts into everything they do. They will seek God's will to ensure that their actions are satisfactory to Him.
