A personal relationship with Jesus (2)

John 4:42: "And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world."

The purpose of the testimonies about Jesus Christ is to encourage us to personally seek Him and have our experience with Him. This enables us to have a strong faith to follow Him amidst all challenges, walk with Him, and serve Him wholeheartedly. It is through our daily encounters with Jesus that we can live out the teachings of the scriptures, grow in faith, and receive the power to fulfil God's purpose for our lives. Seeking a personal encounter with Jesus is not just an option, but a requirement for believers who want to live for Him and reign with Him now and in eternity. If we have nothing tangible of eternal significance that we are experiencing personally from Jesus, our lives will not be able to impact and inspire others to be committed to following Him.

Continually encountering Jesus will strengthen our faith, deepen our commitment to Him and His mission, and help us to mature in the spirit. This will also enable us to overcome temptations and challenges and live a victorious Christian life. By staying close to Jesus, we will also develop the grace and anointing needed to handle greater assignments in the work of the kingdom. Through our intimate fellowship with Him, the spiritual gifts we have received will grow, and we will be able to fulfil our ministry effectively and make an impact on the lives of people. Surrendering to Him and encountering Him always will make us vibrant in spirit, relevant and useful to Him.

You are worthy O Lord.. The twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, honour, and power; for You have created all things, and for Your pleasure, they are and were created." — Revelation 4:10-11 Even with the privilege of sitting around God's throne, these elders demonstrate a deep sense of humility before Him. The Word became Answer RSV, John 1:14: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father." The Word, or Logos, became human as God's response to our need for salvation, addressing all our spiritual needs and the limitations we face as humans. The written word, the scriptures, is also provided by God to meet our needs. However, many struggle to find answers to their challenges in the scriptures due to their lack of understanding of them. But those who genuinely seek truth from the scriptures and are willing to obey God's guidance will find that the scriptures are revealed to them, providing a word from God.
