It takes believing to see the glory of God

John 11:40: "Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?"

In this passage, Martha, the sister of Lazarus who was dead, expresses concern to Jesus that her brother had been dead for four days and would be stinking by now. Despite this difficult situation, Jesus reassures her that if she could believe, she would witness the glory of God. This passage reminds us that no challenge or trouble is beyond God's ability to turn around for our good if only we believe in Him. It also teaches us that faith does not rely on favourable conditions or perfect situations. Often, faith thrives in difficult circumstances. The faith that brings about the manifestation of the glory of God is born out of instructions that may seem foolish or unreasonable from a human perspective.

Our surroundings may appear weak and fail to convince us to believe in God, but it is through faith in God that He can change our situation. God works through His words and the obedience of faith in whatever He tells us. Nothing is happening in our lives, regardless of whether we are the cause, that God cannot use to reveal His glory in us. People may say that your health situation indicates the end, but in reality, it signals the beginning of your glory. God does not only use perfect situations to reveal His glory in our lives but also uses the challenging situations we experience. Even in difficult economic times, those who put their faith in God will witness His glory in their lives. Our God is Almighty and has the power to manage or change any situation and manifest His glory through them. Everything we experience is an opportunity for Him to reveal His greatness in our lives.
