Tarry In Prayer
Luke 24:49 says, "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."
If you feel called by God and are ready to serve Him, making prayer a regular part of your life is crucial. We cannot fulfil God's purpose with our limited strength unless we regularly seek His power through prayer. Seeking God in prayer is essential for receiving help in our times of need. If we don't seek Him, He won't intervene to alleviate our suffering, even if He knows we are in need.
Prayer is not just a command from God, but also a means to receive help, and guidance, and to show His glory in our lives and work. When we pray, we will see God's power at work in our lives and ministries in ways we've never seen before. This is why Jesus prioritized prayer before engaging in public ministry. If we pray, we will find that what seems difficult or impossible for us is possible for God to accomplish.
There is a limit to what anyone can accomplish without involving God in their lives and endeavours. Those who believe they can achieve their goals and dreams without seeking God in prayer are missing out. Every success and accomplishment has a divine factor, making prayer a must-do spiritual exercise. As believers, we need the power of God to do extraordinary things on earth, so regular prayer is essential.
The more we pray, the more we will desire to maintain a constant connection with God and avoid anything that hinders our fellowship with Him. Regardless of our possessions or knowledge, if we neglect prayer, we will not be privy to God's confidential plans or be involved in His work. Consistent prayer empowers our words with God's strength to touch and change lives. Without prayer, we will be perceived as nothing more than mere speakers or public performers.
Prayer brings us closer to God and strengthens our relationship with Him. Through prayer, we experience God's loving presence and receive assurance of His promises and covenant with us. God is drawn to the prayers of the righteous, surrounding them with His presence and lovingkindness. If we desire to see God's glory in our lives, prayer is not optional.
