Preparation process for ministry's engagement
Luke 4:1 states that after Jesus was baptized with the Holy Spirit, He wasn't immediately led to begin His public ministry. He needed to be empowered by the Holy Spirit first. Without God's power, anyone who goes into ministry becomes a casualty. So Jesus went into the wilderness to be equipped by the Holy Spirit. He understood that the wilderness experience was not a punishment or caused by the devil, but a divine strategy to help Him turn to God and seek Him for His power. Jesus engaged in fasting and prayer until He entered into the fullness of the power of the Holy Ghost. We cannot receive the power of God and sustain it to minister in the supernatural unless we die to our body's craving for food and other desires and give ourselves regularly to prayer, fasting and to the study of the scriptures.
As believers, if we want God to manifest His glory through us, we must first submit ourselves to His preparation process. This process involves intense fellowship with God. Some challenges or difficulties we face in life are not caused by the devil but allowed by God to bring us closer to Him. God wants us to seek Him beyond our physical needs and press into Him for the manifestation of His glory in our lives.
