Model the way
John 17:19 says that Jesus sanctified Himself for the sake of his followers so that He could become an example and a motivation for them. As God's leaders, we must be intentional about living in a way that reflects the character and lifestyle of Christ so that those under our care can imitate us. We should strive to make Christ visible to the people we are leading through our lifestyles. Our exemplary leadership should guide those under our care to reach their destiny and summit in life.
God's leaders will not live a loose life but be disciplined in what they do so that they will reflect the characters and purpose of Christ. A loose life will expose our weakness as leaders and instead of us being respected, we will be seen as an object of shame.
God's leaders do not place their personal needs above their Godly vision. Their disciplined lifestyle serves as an inspiration and encouragement to others. Leaders who serve God are different from worldly leaders as they do not live for themselves but for the glory of God. Their mission is to make a positive, indelible, and everlasting impact on the lives of the people they lead.
Let us strive to live a life that is pleasing to God so that we will model Christ before people and be used as instruments of transformation in their lives.
