Ignite Your Faith
In Judges 6:14, the Lord appeared to Gideon and commanded him to go in his might and save Israel from the Midianites. Gideon discovered his strength to face the enemy when God revealed himself to him. This revelation of God's might was intended to empower him to do the impossible. Discovering our strength and abilities in the word of God ignites and instils faith in our hearts to confront great tasks, and our enemies and obliterate their attacks. It makes us audacious to preach the gospel and proclaim the counsels of God.
Knowing God helps us discover our identity and strength in Christ. It allows us to think and speak like God in any situation we are in. Our success in life and ministry hinges on our knowledge of the personalities in Christ. The more we know God intimately, the more we discover ourselves in the light of His words, the more our faith grows in Christ, and the stronger we become to do great things. As we grow in our knowledge of God, we will have the faith to do what we could not do before, and God will accomplish great works through us.
To execute the works of God, we need complete faith in Him and His Word. The Word of God imparts the knowledge of God and reveals His love and power towards us. We must all know God personally and believe Him so that God will be able to do His supernatural works through us all. When God assigns us, He doesn't trust our strength to accomplish His great plans, but our faith and obedience to His instructions.
Abraham is a prime example of someone who had firm faith in God's ability to fulfil His promise. His robust faith came from being fully convinced of God's power through his knowledge of God. We must all ignite our faith and strengthen it regularly through the knowledge of the word of God so that we can be relevant in the works of God.
