Grace's role in ministry

Gal 1:15-16: "But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:"


The passage above expressed the significance of God's grace in guiding individuals into ministry and sustaining them throughout their journey. Indeed, it's through the grace of God that we can discover the purpose of God for our lives and be effective in the work assigned to us. Regular spiritual practices of prayer, fasting, and meditation help us to stay connected to grace. Keeping our focus on the foundation of grace rather than personal accomplishments helps maintain our impact and relevance in ministry, as it's the grace of God that empowers us to bring the counsels of God to His people. The manifestation of grace in our lives reminds us that our ministry is about sharing Christ's saving power rather than promoting ourselves.


The depth of our connection to Christ and His revelation to us directly influences the passion and effectiveness of our witnessing for Him. Allowing the Holy Spirit to continuously reveal Christ through the Scriptures to us nurtures and strengthens our zeal to fulfill the ministry given to us. Just as a building's foundation is crucial for its stability, God establishes His plans within our hearts and engraves His purpose so that we may carry it out according to His design. This emphasizes the importance of intimate communion with God, as He seeks a deep and heartfelt relationship with those He calls to fulfill His purpose. 


Bringing our hearts closer to God allows us to understand His ways and patterns, which are found in the Scriptures. The process of building the foundation of God's work within our hearts involves a transformation of our thoughts to align with God's thoughts. Surrendering our hearts to God and meditating on His Word opens us up to hear His voice through grace. Indeed, being fully present in God's presence allows us to receive something valuable or eternal from Him. Walking with God requires faith and a wholehearted commitment, engaging our hearts, souls, and minds in everything we do for Him. This way, we offer ourselves to God in a way that He can receive and use for His glory.

The Word became Answer RSV, John 1:14: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father." The Word, or Logos, became human as God's response to our need for salvation, addressing all our spiritual needs and the limitations we face as humans. The written word, the scriptures, is also provided by God to meet our needs. However, many struggle to find answers to their challenges in the scriptures due to their lack of understanding of them.
