THE WORDS OF GOD ARE ABOUT HIS FAME

Ps 138:2: "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name."

The word of God is the fame, glory, reputation, integrity, and honour of God, and He has magnified it above all His name. The faithfulness of God to His words is what makes God famous in the world. The word of God is His agreement or covenant with us, and God has always been faithful to His word from generation to generation. We can put all our trust in the words of God and we can be sure that we will never be put to shame. If you want to strike an agreement with a man concerning a business, it is wise for us to know the past dealings of the man with the people he has done business with and find out if he is a faithful man or not. The faithlessness of God has been made known in the scriptures for us to learn so that we can put our trust in Him. God has always been faithful to people He made covenants with. It is most wise for us not to be double-minded in our relationship with God, but to fully surrender our lives to God and allow Him to have full control over them, and God will never fail anyone who puts their trust in Him. It is those who are focused, determined, resilient, purposeful, and who do not take no for an answer that will obtain the fulfilment of the promises of God through faith. Faith is the spiritual force by which we obtain things from God. Faith is forceful, but not the force of the flesh, but of prayer and positive confession. We must make demands from God by faith through prayers for the fulfilment of the agreement or covenant He made with us in His words to do some things for us or give us some things. The agreement is agreement and God will always honour His covenant if we are obedient to His instructions and persistent in our prayers to Him.

Gen 22:16: "And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:"

The covenant of God with us is about His fame and glory, and God wouldn't want to renege on them. In the Book of Numbers 14:11, when God was angry with His people and asked Moses how long will His people provoke Him? And how long will it be before they believe in Him, because of all the signs which have shown among them? When God was planning to destroy them with pestilence and disinherit them and make Moses a greater nation and mightier than them. God later dropped the charges He had against His people when Moses protested to Him in prayer about what will happen to His fame among the nations who have heard about the great deliverance that He did for His people. Moses told God that if you kill these people the nations who have heard of your fame will speak, saying, because you are not able to bring your people into the land which you swore to them, therefore you have slain them in the wilderness. Numbers 14:23-20. God is always mindful of His fame and glory and will not allow it to be dishonoured, so God will defend His words in our lives at all costs because it is His covenant with us. God will faithfully fulfil His words for us when we exercise our faith in Him. The words of God are not mere words, they are words of the noble King called God, and His word is His authority over situations and circumstances He pronounced it upon, and the word is binding on them to submit to it. God rules by His words and we must put all our trust in them and stand firmly by faith in them in the face of any opposition and difficulties. God operates by His words and that is the best legacy He has given to us for Him to be able to work for us and work through us.

Our first dealing with God and commitment to Him is to know first His covenants with us, for it is by them we can relate with God and make any requests from Him. The word of God concerning us is the principal thing to discover because it is the foundation of our relationship and fellowship with Him. We will do ourselves well if we increase our commitment to the reading and studying of the words of God. The word of God is highly exalted than any other words, it is the word of the King of kings and Lord of lords. Because kings rule by words and their words are their authority, and the word of God rules over every contrary word. The authority of God is higher than the authorities of other kings and they must all submit to Him. Every problem, challenge, sickness, and disease must all submit to the supreme authority of the word of God. When God has pronounced His words over some things, no words or the counsels of the devil can upturn it. Every believer in Christ is also king and we have the words of God as our authority over the counsels of the devil against our lives. When we see a king, we will always see his authority with him; so also when the enemies see us, they should see the authority of God in our countenance and our speech. No king will appear weak or speak as defeated men, but they will always appear high and mighty as a king and speak with authority.
