THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PRESENCE OF GOD
Exo 33:15: "And he said unto him, If thy presence goes not with me, carry us not up hence."
Moses told God that if He refused His presence going with them or accompanying them in their journey, they should be left alone where they are. Moses knew that they will be vulnerable to the enemies' attacks, the glory of God will be missing in their midst and nothing significantly will happen to them in their journey, so he does not want to take the risk of not having the presence of God with him and His people. Moses pleaded with God to go personally with them and God granted his request and the glory of God was visible in all their journey. It is a futile expedition for any man not to carry the presence of God with him in his life journey or in the work that he is doing. It is the presence of God with us that will give us direction and success in life. It is the presence of God that will make a notable and supernatural difference in what we are called to do. It is the presence of God with you that will make you always be conscious that God is with you and you wouldn't want to do anything that will offend God. It is the presence of God with you that will make you have continuous assurance in your heart that you are safe wherever you are. Those who carry the presence of God with them will never be afraid of their enemies. It is the consciousness of the presence of God with you that gives you hope for a better future and the conviction that your tomorrow is secured by God. The knowledge of the presence of God with you will give you confidence that God will always give you victory in life, and by it, you will be able to dare the mountains and do the impossible. It is by the cognizance of the presence of God with you that you will walk through the enemy's territories and establish the kingdom of God.
It is the presence of God with us that motivates us to love God and drives us to seek fellowship with God always. The presence of God is a supernatural atmosphere and covering that God puts around a man and it puts a separation between him and others. Those who carry the presence of God are a different species, they are carriers of the glory of God and the hand of God is always on them. The presence of God is the principal thing that you need in life to become all that God has destined you to be and do. If you can secure the presence of God with you, you have also secured your present and your future. It's one thing to have the presence of God with us and it's another thing to know what to do with the presence of God that we have when we are faced with challenges. Some people run out of God's presence to seek help outside the will of God when they are in trouble because they are ignorant that the God that is present with them is not just there as a figurehead, but the Almighty God and their Saviour to help them out in all their troubles. We must take advantage of the presence of God with us to seek the face of God in prayer and He will tell us or lead us on what to do to be able to come out of our challenges.
The Garden of Eden where God put Adam and Eve was a symbol of the presence of God with them. Genesis 13:10 recorded that the garden was well-watered everywhere. Those who carry the presence of God with them are always filled or imbued with the word of God because God speaks to them regularly from the scriptures. They are always soaked with the revelations of the word of God. God desires us to be the mobile carrier of His presence wherever we are so that the knowledge of His glory will be made manifest through us for others to be able to come to Christ. Living and operating outside the presence of God is dangerous for anyone because your life will be exposed to demonic invasions and attacks. God has put His presence around us and we are expected to labor by the grace that His presence offers us to seek God always in prayer, looking for Him in His words and maximizing His presence to save and help others. We are to keep or guard the presence of God with us always so that we will not lose it. The presence of God can be lost through sin or wilful disobedience to the words of God.
