FAITH IS NOT VAGUELY, BUT SPECIFIC
John 8:12: "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
Though God asked us to follow Him by faith, He hasn't asked us to follow Him blindly. Faith is not blind nor vagueness but specifics. Whenever God asks us to follow Him by faith on a particular matter, He will be specific to us on what He wants us to do, so that we can follow Him step by step. God is not God of confusion, but orderly in His leadership over our lives. He will not lead us hurriedly, but gradually until we reach the destination He has planned for us. Those who follow God by faith are given direction on what to do, how to do it, and where to do it. Faith is not a general or muddling instruction from God, but specifics on what to do. God has not asked us to pray and receive all the things that we need in life from Him at a time, but for the specific things that we need per time. Because we cannot fully understand everything about God at once, He reveals Himself to us step by step from one level of our faith to faith in His words, so that our faith can grow through His faithfulness in our lives. God hasn't called anyone to do every work for Him or send anyone everywhere to serve Him. God calls people to serve Him by giving them specific assignments and sending them to specific places and specific people. The way of God is not ambiguous, but clear and specific so that we can all walk with God one step after the others and comprehend Him. God always breaks His vision for us into steps so that we will be able to work with it gradually to the finish line. The leading of God is always a gradual process toward perfection. It's not enough to have faith in God, but to also add to our faith the knowledge in the area of our calling and vocation so that we can understand the specific things that God wants to do through us.
God has not called us to be men of many parts, but specifics, because He deals with us in parts and we are expected to follow Him piece by piece. Those of us who have been called by God to start a ministry are given a specific message to preach. That word or message that you are hearing from God always and ends in the same direction is the message that God has given to you for His people. And the message will further explain the audience you have been sent to. What the Spirit of God puts forward before us when we are reading the scriptures is the specific substance in the promises of God that He wants us to hold upon by faith and bring to Him in prayer to receive. These specific things we see in the scriptures are the visions that are set before us by God for us to run with by faith. The promises of God and the blood of Jesus provide strong consolation in our hearts to lay hold of the hopes set before us in the scriptures and pray about it, and run with it. Hebrew 6:18. Unless there is a strong consolation by the Spirit of God in our hearts that God will give to us what He promised us we wouldn't be able to hold onto the promise of God by faith. So, where there is no strong consolation or encouragement in the heart from the Spirit of God to pursue what we think that God is saying to do through us, then it's not God that is promising us and faith will be absent in the heart to pursue it.
