CALLED BY GRACE
Galatians1:15-16: "But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:"
It is by His grace that God called people into the works of ministry and not by the good works, not by age, life, or work experience, not by academic credentials, financial weight, or race. It's by the grace by which we are called that we are going to function and operate in the ministry we are given and not by another man's grace. Our efficiency, impact, and success in ministry are highly dependent on the grace we have been given to do the work that God assigned to us. That is the reason why we need to grow consistently in the grace of God in our lives through our regular fellowship with God in prayer, fasting, and regular meditation on the word of God. We must not at any time lose focus of the grace that we have been given to start depending on our human ability or experience to do the work that God committed into our hands, less our impact will start depreciating in ministry. We should always remember that we started this journey of faith by grace, and it's through the regular supply of grace from God that we will continue to make an impact and be relevant on this journey. The grace of God is the foundation for our living and significance in the works of God. God has called us by His grace to reveal His Son to us so that we can make His Son known through our preaching so that people can be saved. The grace of God that is given to us was not given to proclaim ourselves, our accomplishments, success, and the favour we have received in ministry, but to preach Christ. What we discovered always about the saving power of Jesus Christ through the grace given to us from the scriptures is the ministry that we have been given to fulfil. The passion and effectiveness of our witnessing to Christ are highly dependent on the personal revelation of Jesus Christ that we have. We must allow the Holy Spirit to reveal Christ to our hearts regularly through the word of God so that our passion to witness Christ will always grow. The revelation of Christ that we had is the foundation and the strength of our faith and our witnessing for Christ. The heart of man is the space where God first builds the foundation and structure of any works that He is planning to do. Just like the foundation of a building is built inside the ground and not on the earth's surface, so also God laid the foundation of all His works in the heart of man. God will engrave His works into our hearts so that man does it according to the pattern that God conceived inside us. That is why God demands heart-to-heart intimacy with the man He called to fulfil His purpose.
Prov 23:26: "My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways."
When God called anyone to serve Him, He would want the man to bring his heart closer to Him, so that the man can begin to observe His ways or patterns that He wanted him to follow or obey from the scriptures. Building the foundation of the works of God in the heart of man involves the removal of our old ways of thought and planting the thoughts of God. God will not show us His ways that we should follow from His words until we bring our hearts before Him to meditate in His words. A heart that is surrendered to God to know Him will hear the voice of God easily by grace. Whenever we are in the presence of God, our hearts must be there, because God wants everyone that comes to Him to leave with something tangible or of eternal value. We walk with God with the heart of faith and whatever we do with God or for Him must be done with our hearts, souls, and minds so that God will receive them. Matthew 12:30
