From Earthly Understanding to Heavenly Faith

Image
From Earthly Understanding to Heavenly Faith KJV+, John 3:12: “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?” Just as Jesus spoke to Nicodemus—who struggled to believe even when earthly illustrations were used to explain spiritual rebirth—so He speaks to us today about the importance of believing His written Word. These are truths we can read, see, and relate to. Our faith must first be grounded in Scripture before it can grow to receive the deeper, specific revelations God gives to our spirit. We begin our walk with God after salvation by believing His written Word. As we trust and act on what is already revealed in Scripture, our faith grows. But if we cannot believe the written Word—available to all—how can we believe the personal and specific words God brings to us? If we cannot trust God’s promises in Scripture, which are given to everyone, how can we trust His specific will for our individual lives? It is through ex...

Endued with Power Before Ministry

Image
Endued with Power Before Ministry KJV+, Luke 24:49: "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." Being called or gifted by God is not enough; waiting upon Him for empowerment before entering public ministry is a necessity, not a suggestion. If we desire to truly bless the people of God, we must allow Him to clothe our calling and gifts with His power. While the world is in a hurry, those called by God must not be. Without the backing of His power, we cannot make a lasting impact in the lives of those He sends us to. A ministry that lacks the power of God cannot produce genuine transformation. The Word of God is full of power, but it must be activated in us by the Spirit through a life of prayer. Without divine power, we become mere noise makers rather than vessels advancing God’s work. It is not eloquence or motivational speaking that brings salvation, healing, deliverance, and mira...

A Sacrifice of Appreciation, Not Payment

Image
A Sacrifice of Appreciation, Not Payment “But the king replied to Araunah, ‘No, I insist on buying it, for I will not present burnt offerings to the LORD my God that have cost me nothing.’ So David paid him fifty pieces of silver for the threshing floor and the oxen.” — 2 Samuel 24:24 (NLT) Just as Araunah freely offered his threshing floor to David and even provided oxen for the burnt offering, along with the threshing boards and ox yokes for firewood, God has freely given us salvation and everything we need for life and godliness through the death and resurrection of Christ. We do not have to make sacrifices or payments before receiving the gift of salvation and the blessings God has provided. We receive them simply by faith. However, David insisted on paying for Araunah’s threshing floor and oxen. He declared that he would not offer burnt offerings to the Lord that cost him nothing. In the same way, while we do not pay for what God has freely given to us in Christ, we demonstrate ou...

When Faith Meets the Power of God

Image
When Faith Meets the Power of God “And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” — Mark 10:27 (KJV) What is impossible for human beings to accomplish is not impossible for God. It is unthinkable to compare man with God. God is Almighty and unlimited in strength; there are no limits to what He can do. Man, however, is limited in many ways. Yet when a person makes God his support, there is no limit to what can be accomplished through him. God created us to demonstrate the greatness of His power through our lives. When a person puts faith in God and trusts Him, nothing will be impossible. There is no limit to what we can reach in life if we depend on God for help in our needs. However, faith in God is not passive. Faith is acting on what we believe God will do for us. All things become possible through the working of faith expressed in prayer and obedience to God’s leading. The leading of God is by faith ...

Cast Your Burdens Upon the Lord

Image
Cast Your Burdens Upon the Lord 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV): “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” God calls us to cast all our cares upon Him because He truly cares for us. We should not hold on to some of our burdens and allow them to trouble our hearts. Instead, we should bring everything before God in prayer and allow Him to handle them. When we truly surrender our burdens to Him, the weight begins to lift from our hearts, and we receive rest and assurance that He has heard us. God is not only our Father but also our close Friend. If we freely share our struggles with trusted human friends, how much more should we bring them to God, who has unlimited power to help us. When we place our burdens before Him, our hearts become lighter and our faith grows stronger. For us to walk closely with God, our hearts must not be weighed down by anxiety and worry. When our hearts are filled with our problems, we become distracted and unable to clearly see the ways of God. This is why the...

Leadership That Strengthens the Weak

Image
Leadership That Strengthens the Weak “We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.” — Romans 15:1 Those whom God has made strong in a particular area ought to show compassion toward those who are weak in that same area and help strengthen them. When God gives you strength, grace, or insight in a specific aspect of life, it is not merely for your personal advancement—it is so that you may help lift those who are struggling. God raises leaders in areas where He has already granted them strength so they can support and guide those who are weak. Leadership is not given to elevate our personal status, but to serve the people of God. We are not called to condemn, belittle, or look down on those who are weak, struggling, or helpless. Rather, we are called to impact their lives and help them grow stronger. Where God has given us grace to be strong, we must become the personification of that grace to others. We should always pray that the well ...

The Call of God Is a Mandate

Image
The Call of God Is a Mandate “The LORD replied, ‘Don’t say, “I’m too young,” for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you.’” — Jeremiah 1:7 (NLT) The calling of God upon a person—whether in ministry, church leadership, business, entrepreneurship, or service—is not merely a suggestion from God; it is His command. Therefore, if God has called you and given you an assignment, you must hear and heed it carefully. That assignment is God's mandate for you to carry out, and you are not permitted to tamper with it or exchange it for another task for any reason. When Jeremiah became afraid of the assignment God gave him because he felt too young, God told him that he must go wherever He sends him and speak whatever message He gives him. In other words, Jeremiah was not allowed to change the audience God sent him to or alter the message God gave him because of fear or any other reason. Likewise, if God has placed a calling upon your life, you do not have the permission to ...
